SAM STICKELS

I grew up in a small town in Iowa, where I first discovered the power of storytelling through theater. Performing in high school musicals helped me come out of my shell, and before long, I was hooked. At the same time, I had a deep love for tennis, eventually winning a state championship in singles and competing at the collegiate level.

I studied computer science at Grinnell College, but everything shifted when I spent a semester abroad at the Fordham London Dramatic Academy. Immersed in conservatory-style training—studying Shakespeare, voice, and movement—while watching incredible West End productions, I knew acting was what I wanted to pursue.

Now based in Brooklyn, I split my time between auditioning, acting, taking voice/dance classes and teaching tennis, sharing my love for the sport. When I’m not on stage, on set, or on the tennis court, you’ll probably find me at IFC Center, Film Forum, Metrograph, or the Museum of the Moving Image, watching as many films as I can.
